Volleyball Practice Procedures and Policies

C Team

C Team level practice consists of learning the basics and rules of the game, practicing fundamental skills through drills, and understanding a basic rotation. They work on attempting to keep the ball in play, 3 ball touches before it goes over, communication, and movement. While underhand serving is primarily used, overhand serving is worked on at this level depending on the player and the coach’s discretion. Playing time is divided up to be as fair as possible. Coach looks for attitude, attendance, and coachability. Games are often on Tuesdays and Fridays.

B Team

B Team practices consist of skill drills, continuous play drills in order to read the ball, learning techniques to implement in certain motions and learning a complex rotation such as, but not limited to a 6-2, 5-1, etc. Learning rotation varies depending on where the team is at throughout the season. The rotation may look different from the beginning of the season to the end. Positions may change as well as the rotation as the girls’ skills progress and their knowledge and understanding of the game grows. B Team works on learning an overhand serve, but it is not required. Playing time varies and may change as the season progresses; it may be adjusted based on the following standards: attitude, position, attendance, and attainability of knowledge and implementation of skills during practice and games. Games are often on Tuesdays and Fridays.
